Favorite LA gallery/community space, art or otherwise?
I don't get out as much as I should but I am lately appreciating shows at The Hammer Museum, 356 Mission and Charlie James Gallery. I am happy for the vision, ethos and energy of The Public School, Human Resources LA and Public Fiction. Los Angeles is rich in experimental and thoughtful venues which in turn allows for great, idiosyncratic programming.

Best show you’ve seen recently?
I loved Kerry James Marshall's show at MoCA. The work feels both personal and generous. I loved Rhythm Mastrs. I hope he does make an animated film someday and in the meantime I wish someone would publish a collection of his comics.

Artist you’re excited about?
Jane Dickson. She's older but not extremely well known. Her paintings remind me a little of Florine Stettheimer

What music have you been listening too?
Joanna Brouk- 'Hearing Music' and 'The Healing Touch'. Also Alice Coltrane

Any shows coming up?
I'm heading to Virginia next week to install work for a show at the Taubman Museum called "Tangled: Fiber Art Now!"

Chosen footwear of the moment.
If you know me at all you will know how predictable I am when it comes to my shoes. I've been wearing red clogs (Sven) most days of the week since I was 4 years old.
